Look what I got!

Look what I got for my birthday! Last week my lovely friends gifted this to me. It’s a bonsai Adenium. Isn’t that sweet?

Now, I’m nervous, as I don’t know how to maintain bonsais. I gotta do some reading now, as I wouldn’t want this beauty to I-don’t-wanna-say-it, do I?

The shot above was captured by my sister - sweet of her. :)

Now it shares a space on the computer desk, where I spend most of my time…

What better gift for a plant lover than an 'Adenium'. Well,as faras your apprehensions about its maintenance are concerned, Adenium is a very easy plant to maintain... don't water it too much and do keep it out in sun regularly for few days before bringing it in on your desk.Just keep these things in mind and your Adenium will thrive and reward with beautiful flowers too!
All the Best

Happy belated Birthday, Chandramouli! Your new Adenium will be a good companion while you sit at your computer. Glad to hear you had a great trip and that all is well with your family.

I love your new plant! It does look so much like a miniature tree! I won't say how many Bonsai's have, well, gone to the next world from my home....LOL! I think I hover over them and give them too much attention.....I've never seen the type you have. I hope you have good luck with it and that it thrives happily there by your computer. By the way, belated Happy Birthday!! Here's a quote for you which I love about birthdays:

"Because time itself is like a spiral, something special happens on your birthday each year: The same energy that God invested in you at birth is present once again." - Menachem Mendel Schneerson

GT: I hope so too. I'm okay with Adeniums in pots outside but Bonsais still make me nervous, but it's thriving so far and I hope it flowers beautiful as the one I have outside.

Thank you, Randy. I'll be waiting for their blooms - which I'm sure would take months from now.

Thank you, Rose. I'm glad too and god did I enjoy it! It was such fun!

Thank you, Marion. That's sweet :) Made my day!

Thank you, Catherine. I hope so too :)

Thank you, Tina. It definitely must be fun!

True, Racquel. It brings a smile whenever I behold it. Thank you.

Bonsais. Water twice a day, if
necessary, watch for diseases
mostly on leaves, if it
get too big for the pot
cut main root. Or change
the pot.
That is that. With trees
is more tricky. Good luck
and congratulations!

Thank you, Kanak. The plant already is showing signs of sprouts which is a good sign! My fears are at rest now.

Thank you, Antigonum Cajan. I'm sure those tips would come handy.

Isn't it, Frances! I was so excited on seeing it, Thank you :)

HI Chandramouli,
I happened to stumble upon blog. What a great blog it is. This is really a great gift. Has it started blooming?

If so, how are you taaking care of it?

I have also started collecting bonsais.

Welcome to Plantville, Sahana. Glad you liked it :)
It is an Adenium, but hasn't started blooming yet. I am thinking of repotting it. May be that'd do the trick. Will keep you updated.
