Weekly Macro

I'm not going to reveal its identity yet. As said before, I have too many posts in queue and the next would be a follow-up of this:Any guesses? Here's a better view, featured in my previous post:

Passion flower?

Some type of really fancy orchid? The second picture looks like part of a feather, but I don't think it's your bird.

Really interesting shots! But I haven't a clue what it could be.

Your blooms are pretty! I don't know what the mystery flower is, though. I love that color!

A famished swan in turkey feathers?:)

Looks like my lovely, fragrant Passionflowers, but I'm also thinking it could be a spider dressed up for an LSU basketball game. (Our favorite local college team here is Louisiana State University whose colors are purple and gold.)

Can't wait to get the answer!

A dahlia?

I agree with Tina, it's a passion flower. :-) Very pretty pictures!--Randy

That has to be a passion flower! I have some seeds sitting in a pot in my kitchen, and I'm waiting so long for them to pop out of the dirt! Do they take long to germinate? They are sitting in the south window, with sun pouring in, but when the weather turns outside they go. If they grow!

What a lovely passion flower, with it's crochet thread petals! I wish they would grow here.

A fine gardener that you're, I did expect you to guess it right, Tina. :)

Catherine: Fancy Orchid! I've never grown one but want to try an orchid sometime. Hopefully this year one might find home in Plantville.

Thank you, Michelle.

Thank you, Sue. As I said, I love the color too. Someone Blue tingles happy nerves in my brain.

Thank you, Prue :)

Shailaja: LOL! That was really wild, but a good one.

MarionL: You were RIGHT! Spider with fancy skirt? That's funny.

Phillip: Ahhh! That reminds me that I've never been successful with Dahlia. That's the first seed that I tried and am still trying :(

Randy: This was expected from you Randy. As I said, Tina's a fine gardener and so are you too. I'm a fan of you, Tina and of course all others in my Blog List.

RobinL IT IS! I didn't grow this from seed. In fact I was told that this is a FAHION FLOWER at the Horticultural Society! :O I know! So much for being in a Horticultural Society! Pity them. Anyways, I've heard it's not always easy to germinate these. You might want to soak the seeds in warm water overnight before soaking and in full sun, I've heard of people 100% germination. The trick is the sun here.
They'd grow fine as long as you have sun. Good luck with you seeds. Be patient, if you didn't soak them, coz it takes time to break through the hard coat. If you have some more, may be you could try soaking them and do let me know of your success rate.
