Do we have a relative here?
Remember my earlier post about the Grapevine? Well, not few weeks after he visited Plantville, another woman checked in. She looked similar to him and I thought I had two of the same, but no, This one didn't have palmate leaves like Mr Grapevine, but Ovate, serrated leaves, but the shoots/sprouts look similar and also she lacks his tendrils. One other similarity between the two is that is stem is purplish as hers but she's endowed with soft hair. Does she belong to his family? Do I have another grape? I remember sowing (casting, should I say) grape seeds in the Adenium pot. Somehow Adenium loves being around with friends. First it was Carry Me Seed, then Chilli, now this and another, soon-to-be-identified guest.

Gotta love those surprises in the garden.
I sure do, Tina. Every day or at least every week, I am surprised with something new. The denizens of Plantville love to see my eyes wide with surprise.
Hi Chandramouli, I don't know if that is a grape. I thought all grapes have tendrils? You might have to wait and see if someone doesn't help you out here. Love the Adenium fostering the other seedlings, what a nice disposition it has! :-)
Frances
I too love the surprises in the garden, I tend to blame/credit the birds and wind!
I'm not sure, Frances. Grapes are very new to me. As you said, I'll wait for other experts around.
Oh, Adenium is such a darling.
I do the same, Darla, but I'm now almost sure that the grapevine is from one of my seeds as I remember tossing about at least five or seven, but I'm not sure what this is... Looks beautiful though and behaves like a groundcover.
I'm not sure what it is. Maybe you should leave out some empty post for more visitors to check in to! You're going to have all sorts of fun things growing there!
I do have an empty room for the visitors but they always want to visit occupied rooms, but recently a new beautiful foliage-d visitor has checked into the empty pot (room). Let's see who s/he is. It's really fun, Catherine!
It's interesting that you assigned a feminine personality to the mystery plant, especially since she has hairy arms/legs! For some reason, the leaves make me think of a hydrangea. Are you able to grow them in your area?
Now that you mention it, yes, it's strange. How did I call her a SHE? I don't know. I just thought she is a SHE! :D
Hydrangea? I've never heard of it in India. I looked it up in the Common Flowers that grow in Northern parts that are colder when compared to Southern parts of India (where I live). The description of the foliage does match but the purplish baby leaves? That confuses me. Do they have purple tinge initially? I mean the new growth.
BTW, I've never heard of them here. May be a further research about Hydrangea would shed some light. Thank you so much for the suggestion :) Will let you know what I learn...
I have no answers for you, but share the joy of wondering what something is.. I think I finally remembered that one plant I walk by as I leave my house is a dwarf delphinium.
Oh, we gardeners have always something to solve, Wayne. It's fun, ain't it!
